Bethesda has put an end to months of speculation and announced that players will need to pay a recurring monthly subscription to play its upcoming MMO The Elder Scrolls Online.
Speaking with German-language site Gamestar, Zenimax Online’s Matt Firor said gamers will get 30 days free game time when they purchase The Elder Scrolls Online, after which they will pay a recurring monthly fee of US$14.99.
Firor told Gamestar that a subscription model was better suited to facilitate the kinds of experiences gamers expect from an Elder Scrolls game.
